Covid-19 & Travel

Last update – 28 June 2022

I am fully Vaccinated, what else do I need to visit the Cayman Islands?

To ensure the health and safety of all persons traveling to the Cayman Islands, all travelers 12 and over must be vaccinated. Children ages 11 and under will adopt the vaccination status of their parents or travel guardians.  Other requirements that will then need to be met from July 1st onwards include:

  1. Apply to the Travel Cayman portal for an official Certificate no less than 72 hours before travel by submitting a Travel Declaration for each individual traveling; including unvaccinated children (have proof of vaccine ready to upload for those who have). Do not select Travel Request – this is for an unvaccinated traveler.
  2. Have proof of suitable Medical Insurance. You should ensure that COVID-19 is not an exclusion to the existing policies.
  3. The Cayman Islands no longer require a covid test for entry however, if your country requires you to do one to return home, testing centers are less than 5 minutes away from Botanica and each test costs US$30.00.

To make a Travel Declaration please visit Travel Cayman. Your Travel Certificate should be approved within minutes and is valid for three months. Ideally you can apply for your Travel Certificate 2 weeks in advance.

Can I visit if I am unvaccinated?

If you are unvaccinated at this time only close ties will be allowed provided they are willing to complete a 7 day quarantine period. A close tie is considered anyone who can demonstrate that they own a business or property in the Cayman Islands or has a close family tie. A family tie is anyone that is the spouse, civil partner, sibling, parent, step-parent, grandparent, grandchild, child or stepchild of a Caymanian or Resident. All unvaccinated travelers must apply for a Travel Request via Travel Cayman and prove they satisfy the requirements for entry.
